RocGene (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd.
Six Carbapenem-resistant Gene Nucleic Acid Test Kit (PCR-Fluorescent Probe Method)

Product Abbreviation: CRE6

Detection Target: Carbapenem antibiotic resistance genes (including KPC, NDM, VIM, IMP and OXA-48 and OXA-23 genes)

Cat. No. : 10T/box – 10210108A; 50T/box – 10210108B

This kit accurately detects six key carbapenemase resistance genes, including KPC, NDM, VIM, IMP, OXA-48 and OXA-23, and effectively identifies the resistance mechanism of carbapenem antibiotics (the last line of defense in human anti-infective therapy). By specifically distinguishing between metallozyme (NDM, VIM, IMP) and nonmetalase (KPC, OXA-48, OXA-23) resistance types, it provides accurate resistance genotyping information for clinical practice. The test has high sensitivity and specificity, can quickly identify enzyme-producing resistant strains, and is a key tool for precise medication in patients with severe infection, nosocomial infection prevention and control, and antimicrobial management, providing important technical support for curbing the spread of superbugs.

Current Status
Carbapenem antibiotics serve as the last line of defense in the clinical treatment of multidrug-resistant bacterial infections, and the issue of their resistance has become a global public health crisis. The World Health Organization (WHO) classified Carbapenem-Resistant Enterobacterales (CRE) as a "critical threat" in 2022, and China's "National Action Plan to Contain Bacterial Resistance (2022-2025)" also emphasizes the importance of strengthening the detection of carbapenemase resistance mechanisms. Clinical data shows that resistance caused by 5 carbapenemase genes such as KPC and NDM accounts for more than 80% of clinically isolated strains, with the mortality rate of infections triggered by these genes as high as 40-50%. Additionally, such resistant bacteria spread rapidly and are prone to causing outbreaks of nosocomial infections. However, traditional detection methods have limitations including the inability to distinguish specific resistance mechanisms, high costs, and long time consumption.
iFIND Solution
The iFIND Six Carbapenem-resistant Gene Nucleic Acid Test Kit can detect 6 key carbapenemase resistance genes (including KPC, NDM, VIM, IMP, OXA-48 and OXA-23) in one test, covering more than 80% of clinical carbapenem resistance mechanisms. Moreover, it can specifically distinguish between metalloenzyme (NDM, VIM, IMP) and non-metalloenzyme (KPC, OXA-48, OXA-23) resistance types, providing accurate resistance gene typing information for clinical practice.
